Salvation Army Christmas Bags by 20th Dec

Salvation Army Christmas Bags by 20th Dec

Each year we donate Christmas gift bags to the Salvation Army for their special Christmas meal for those who are homeless. The Mother’s Union is coordinating this.

Miguel of the Salvation Army writes: “The individuals coming will be so excited to receive these items. I think they will be a great gift for the homeless community.”

The donated gift items/bags must be brought to St George’s Church by noon on Wednesday the 20th of December (in time for their meal on the 21st).

There are more homeless men (70) than women (5), so the bags should mainly be for men.

Suggested items to include:

  • something for warmth (gloves, scarf, hat, socks etc)
  • a personal hygiene item (toothbrush/toothpaste, shower gel, deodorant etc)
  • a sweet treat (turrón, chocolate, biscuits, but nothing containing alcohol)
  • a personal item (notebook, pen, flashlight, game etc)
  • a small backpack to carry everything in

You can also donate festive gift bags themselves for us to fill with items (we are aiming for 75).

Thank you!
