Christmas appeal for Salvation Army

Christmas appeal for Salvation Army

As every year, St George’s is collecting bags for the local Salvation Army. You can drop items off at church before or on Thursday 10th December. Please call the church to make sure someone will be there to receive items.

Due to the coronavirus rules restricting large group gatherings, the Salvation Army will not be able to put on its usual Christmas lunch this year. However, they are still able to give out breakfasts for small groups at a time. So, on Friday 18th December, they plan to offer a CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST when they will hand out gift bags. For that, they request:

1. MEN’S CLOTHING
The Salvation Army currently has more than enough women’s and children’s clothing, so donations of men’s clothing would be appreciated.

2. WARM CLOTHING ITEMS
Gloves, scarves, hats, warm socks, etc would be excellent.

3. SLEEPING BAGS and/or BACKPACKS

4. BREAKFAST FOODS
Nothing that expires soon or needs refrigeration, such as long-life orange juice, cereals (cornflakes, oats, etc), biscuits or cookies.

Thank you for your support, which is needed this year more than ever!
