Easter Week Services & Egg Hunt

Easter Week Services & Egg Hunt

Easter is coming! During Lent, the Sunday School is encouraging everyone to bring non-perishable breakfast food items (eg, biscuits, long-life milk, coffee, tea, sugar, briks of juice etc), at least one item per Sunday, which will be donated to the Salvation Army to help support their ongoing ministry to homeless people in Barcelona.

Also, please plan to attend one of the following services and events at St George’s during this Easter season.

Palm Sunday, 25th March, 11am. Celebrate Jesus’ triumphal ride into Jerusalem in this service featuring singing, marching with palms and handmade palm crosses.

Maundy Thursday, 29th March, 8:30pm. This is the day we remember when Jesus and his disciples shared the Last Supper together. Appropriately, there will be a service of Holy Communion commemorating this event.

Good Friday, 30th March, 2pm. This is considered a day of mourning for the Church, marking the crucifixion of Jesus. There will be a quiet service as we reflect on Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross, and what this means to us.

Easter Vigil, 31st March, 10pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the Bonanova Catholic church’s Easter Vigil service which starts with a fire and the lighting of the new Paschal candle, symbolising the eternal presence of Christ, light of the world.

Easter Sunday, 1st April, 11am. Today we mark the resurrection of Jesus. There will be a celebratory Communion service followed by a traditional Easter egg hunt in the garden for all the children.

Hope to see you at St George’s during Holy Week!
