Council

The Church Council is the senior committee of St George’s and consists of clergy and representatives of the laity. Its principal function is to co-operate with the Chaplain in promoting the mission of St George’s Church in Barcelona and in the surrounding area. It is responsible for the financial affairs of the church and the care and maintenance of its assets.

The lay members are elected at the Annual Church Meeting, normally held in April, by means of being nominated and seconded and are on the official Church Electoral Roll, normally for six months. All are welcome to attend the Annual Church Meeting.

The Council makes decisions related to church policy, procedures and protocols, and votes on how the church should spend its money, which derives from the faithful giving of its members.
