Protestant Reformation Concert

Protestant Reformation Concert

To mark the 500th anniversary of the start of the Protestant Reformation in Europe, a special concert will be held on October 18th, 8:30pm, in l’Auditori, Barcelona.

The event is being organised by the Evangelical Council of Catalonia, the Spanish Evangelical Alliance and the Spanish Christian Student Unions (Grupos Bíblicos Unidos) and features the María de Bohórquez Symphonic Orchestra and the Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Bible College Choir.

The musical programme includes:

  • Martin Luther: “Ein Feste Burg” (“A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”)
  • J.S. Bach: Cantata No. 80
  • Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 5, “The Reformation”

You can buy tickets from or directly from l’Auditori box office. Ticket prices are 15, 20 and 25 euros, and group rates are available.

To reserve tickets via the Evangelical Council of Catalonia, call 93 424 10 20 or email

The organisers are encouraging all local churches to invite family, friends and neighbours to the concert as a way of talking more about Protestantism, its place in history, how it finds expression within the worldwide catholic Church, and also what it means to be a Protestant Christian today.

Let’s celebrate the Reformation together!
