Church Life Update 3

Church Life Update 3

This week we hear from the Gava-Mar homegroup, Josephine and Carolina. Watch the next video of encouragement for Lent Week 3 (10 minutes) so we can be Community Together.

This week’s video starts with a photo montage of the Gava-Mar homegroup (pictured), including them celebrating the fun Catalan tradition of the Tio de Nadal (hitting a log to receive treats at Christmas).

Then, the church administrator Josephine shares her excitement for some of the projects that the coronavirus lockdowns have afforded her more time to do: (1) setting up online giving; (2) becoming a legal representative for the church; and (3) serving as the interim church safeguarding officer. To that point, she recommends anyone who serves the church in any type of role to take the safeguarding training course online. You can read more about Safeguarding here.

“Please remain positive, knowing that God knows about each and every one of our situations, and that this tough time will pass,” she says.

Finally, Carolina says it hasn’t been a great year for singing, but in spite of that, the St George’s Singers managed to pull off the Nine Lessons and Carols Service which can still be enjoyed here. “It was a really, really enjoyable project,” she says. The service has had over 500 views, and the group looks forward to singing together again soon.
