Wanted: New Volunteers

Wanted: New Volunteers

St George’s is always looking for new volunteers. Have you thought about how you might get involved in 2020?

The Building Sub-Groups conducted a survey to see how we could improve the use of our main church area, related to everything from improved lighting and projection of music during the services, to the use of the fellowship space on Sundays. For example, you may have noticed the new TV screen in the coffee-and-tea corner, featuring notices, pictures and announcements. We are always looking for more help in making these kinds of improvements. If you are interested, please contact Revd John or Sherry, the warden, and they can put you in touch with the relevant sub-group leaders.

Also, our Sunday worship group and Choral Evensong group, St George’s Singers, are on the lookout for new singers. If you have some experience singing choral music and can sing harmonies, they would love to hear from you. In addition, our long-serving worship leader, Jenny Shaw, has announced she will be stepping down, so we are also looking for new talent — including a worship leader — to continue our Sunday music program. Contact Carolina or Sherry, who can also provide you with a survey on our music ministry which will be used to guide our next steps.

There is plenty of scope to volunteer on a one-off basis without committing to a particular group. We welcome anyone wanting to use their own skills to help out with things around the church building, with the library or administration, for example. We love willing hands, even for small jobs.
